We are thrilled to announce that our Sales Director, Willem Amerika, will be a featured speaker at the Offshore Wind Summit in Tokyo on July 16th and 17th, 2024. Willem Amerika will be discussing the innovative floating offshore wind and walk-to-work solutions. It is an honour to be invited to share our expertise at such a prestigious event.

Below, you can read an exclusive interview with Willem about his upcoming presentation and what this summit means for Safeway Gangway and the offshore wind industry.

What is this summit about?

The Offshore Wind Summit focuses on the offshore wind industry, as the name suggests. Japan is an emerging market with few wind turbines currently but has big ambitions. They aim to focus on floating offshore wind solutions. While Europe has grounded wind turbines, Japan is developing floating structures in the sea with wind turbines on them.

Floating Offshore Wind Demonstration Project Implementation Timeline

What will you be speaking about?

Safeway Gangway offers a unique hover mode in our walk-to-work systems instead of requiring landing. This makes our systems suitable for Japan’s floating constructions. We want to be early adopters in Japan, leveraging this summit to highlight our innovative solutions.

What is your key message?

For a new and emerging market like Japan, it is crucial to collaborate with experienced partners who have systems that have been operational for years. They can share their expertise and provide efficient solutions.
