Safeway at OSJ Asia 2025 – Offshore Access in Focus

by | sep 11, 2025

Safeway was present at OSJ Asia 2025, held on 9–10 September at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre in Singapore. As Asia’s leading offshore support conference, OSJ Asia brought together vessel owners, charterers, operators, shipbuilders and suppliers to discuss the future of offshore operations in the region.

Our team – Jeroen van Lingen (Chartering Manager) and Manel Ben Ameur (Sales Representative) – joined the event to connect with industry peers, share knowledge, and highlight how Safeway’s Walk-to-Work systems can improve safety, efficiency, and uptime in offshore projects.

Relevance for the Region

Asia is a fast-growing offshore market, not just in oil and gas but increasingly in offshore wind. Operators in the region face high expectations around safety, cost control, and sustainability – all while managing complex logistics and weather conditions.

Safeway’s motion-compensated gangways are already in operation in Asia and have proven their value in tough environments. OSJ Asia gave us the opportunity to listen to operators and stakeholders firsthand and better understand their current challenges and future plans.

What We Brought to the Table

At the event, we showcased how Safeway offers more than just access – we offer a complete, plug-and-play Walk-to-Work solution, including:

  • Motion compensation for safe transfers in high sea states
  • Fast mobilization and demobilization
  • Minimal footprint and low energy consumption
  • Proven performance across offshore wind, oil & gas, and decommissioning

Visitors to our stand could explore the benefits of both our standard gangways and high-performance models like the Osprey, currently operating for DEME and Seaway7.

Key Takeaways

  1. Offshore access is critical. With more projects starting up and existing assets needing maintenance, safe crew transfer is becoming a strategic focus.
  2. Sustainability is no longer optional. Operators are looking for equipment that supports their emissions goals without compromising reliability.
  3. Asia needs adaptive systems. Local sea states, regulations, and vessel types demand flexibility and service readiness.
