Safeway at WindEurope 2025: Let’s Talk Offshore Access in Copenhagen

by | apr 8, 2025

April 8–10, 2025 – Copenhagen, Denmark

As the offshore wind sector gathers in Copenhagen for WindEurope 2025, we’re proud to announce that Safeway Gangway will be there in full force. This leading industry event brings together developers, policymakers, suppliers, and innovators working to accelerate Europe’s energy transition — and we’re ready to be part of the conversation.

Representing Safeway in Copenhagen are our Sales Director Willem Amerika and Chartering Manager Jeroen van Lingen, both eager to connect with offshore wind professionals from across the globe. Today, they are joined by our CEO, Wijnand van Aalst, who will also be present at WindEurope to meet with key players and contribute to high-level discussions about the future of offshore logistics and access systems.

Why We’re at WindEurope

Offshore wind is scaling rapidly — but with growth comes complexity. Projects are moving into deeper waters, harsher environments, and more demanding schedules. Across Europe and beyond, operators are rethinking how people and equipment move safely between vessels and structures. That’s where Safeway Gangway comes in.

Our motion-compensated gangways are built to meet these new demands — enabling faster, safer, and more reliable transfers across the offshore wind supply chain. Whether you’re operating a Service Operation Vessel (SOV), a construction vessel, or a jack-up barge, our systems can deliver performance where and when it matters most.

WindEurope is the perfect place to have these conversations. It’s more than an expo — it’s a meeting of minds. From detailed technical briefings to informal conversations over coffee, the event creates real space to explore what’s next for the industry.

Meet Our Team on Site

Willem Amerika brings years of commercial and technical experience in offshore logistics. He’s worked with stakeholders across Europe and Asia, helping design and deliver offshore access systems that keep crews safe and projects running on time. Willem leads our commercial efforts and is always open to discussing new partnerships, chartering opportunities, or tailored system solutions.

Jeroen van Lingen, our newest team member, joins Safeway as Chartering Manager. With his strong background in vessel operations and client coordination, Jeroen is focused on short- and mid-term project support — offering flexible gangway deployment options and helping clients bridge operational gaps with the right equipment at the right time.

Wijnand van Aalst, CEO of Safeway and the Van Aalst Group, will also be on site. As a long-time advocate for innovation in offshore transfer systems, Wijnand is passionate about developing safer, smarter ways to work at sea — and is looking forward to engaging with project leaders, vessel owners, and developers navigating the future of offshore energy.

Let’s Talk — Offshore Wind Is Moving Fast

If you’re attending WindEurope and want to explore:

  • The benefits of flexible gangway rental and charter models
  • Integration options for newbuilds and existing vessels
  • How we’re supporting projects in Taiwan, the North Sea, the US, and beyond

… then let’s connect.

Safeway’s systems have already completed over 200,000 safe transfers and are trusted by leading offshore contractors worldwide. From the Dogger Bank to Asia-Pacific, we’re enabling reliable access — even in challenging sea states, tight timelines, and shifting operational demands.
