Bringing Dutch offshore innovation to the world — and back home again
Safeway Gangway proudly participated in Nor-Shipping 2025, one of the most influential events in the global maritime calendar. As part of the Netherlands Pavilion (Hall C), our team showcased our next-generation motion-compensated gangway systems to thousands of industry professionals, shipowners, and offshore operators gathered in Oslo.
From detailed demonstrations to strategy discussions, the event confirmed one thing clearly: the demand for safer, smarter, and more efficient Walk-to-Work solutions is accelerating — and Safeway is already setting the standard.

Connecting Offshore Excellence with Local Leadership
One of the standout moments of the event came on Day 2, when Maarten Burggraaf, Deputy Mayor of Dordrecht and Councillor for Maritime and Innovation, visited the Safeway stand. His presence highlighted the powerful connection between local Dutch innovation and global offshore development.
“As a company deeply rooted in Dordrecht, it means a lot to see our local leadership recognizing the relevance and international growth of what we do,”
— Wijnand van Aalst, CEO, Safeway Gangway
Safeway’s growth from a Dutch engineering concept into a globally deployed offshore access solution shows how homegrown innovation can have worldwide impact — and that support from forward-thinking cities like Dordrecht plays a real role in enabling that journey.
Powered by Collaboration: NMT–IRO
Our presence at Nor-Shipping was made possible through the continued support of NMT–IRO, the merged Dutch industry association representing shipbuilders, suppliers, and offshore energy technology firms. Through their organization of the NL Pavilion and international matchmaking efforts, they help position companies like Safeway on the global stage — from Taiwan to the North Sea, from demo halls to deployment.
As active members of NMT–IRO, we believe in the power of collective presence, shared knowledge, and speaking with one voice when it comes to innovation, regulation, and opportunity.
Showcasing the Numbers That Matter
During the exhibition, our team presented real-world performance metrics that underline the value of Safeway systems:
- 30–40% fuel savings compared to traditional access systems
- Up to 40% faster crew transfers during operations
- Available in both permanent installation and rental configurations
Whether deployed on PSVs, CSOVs, or large construction vessels, Safeway’s motion-compensated gangways deliver unmatched uptime, safety, and flexibility — especially in offshore wind and complex O&G projects.
